Look a little longer…playful and naive, the works have a deeper more guarded and personal meaning. Ninni strives for minimal lines and form to capture and communicate emotions. Her work is created freely, nearly subconscious, a result from a passion of observing nature and human behavior. Thoughts and concepts take in fresh interpretations through experiments with a variety of mediums, new and traditional.

Humans are the ones that don’t make sense to me, we tend to project our thoughts and feelings onto other species with out knowing very much about them. The bear symbolizes safety, cuteness and danger all in one being. I sketched human emotions onto bearhead shapes, and then made them in earthen wear to create a crowd where humans are mixed with bears, here is a sampling, I have more than a dozen drawings and ceramic heads to match….Bearly Human…
Mystical, known for wisdom, darkness, beauty and death. Owls are the ultimate observer, chances are you won’t see them, but they are watching you.
Owls for me are a symbol of my late father and a connection to things I will never understand…Owls will always have a place in my work.
